Juventus set to hi-jack Romelu Lukaku deal

Italian champions Juventus are looking to beat rivals Inter Milan to the capture of Romelu Lukaku.

Manchester United have told Lukaku that he can leave this summer, but they are also insistent that they want to recoup the £75million they paid to Everton in 2017.

However, despite talks that have been ongoing for weeks – Inter have been unable to get anywhere near United’s price, coming up with a deal worth £60million.

United reluctance to take any Inter players such as Mauro Icardi or Ivan Perisic has not helped, and that is where Juventus could trump them.

Juve are understood to be offering Argentine star Paulo Dybala, and he has peaked United’s interest.

The 25-year-old was once Juve’s star turn but he is no longer seen as a key asset, which may see him included in the deal for Lukakau.

Bookmakers still believe Inter are the most likely destination but BetVictor have confirmed Juve’s odds on landing Lukaku have been slashed, whilst United are also now favourites to land Dybala.

BetVictor’s Head of antepost Football Michael Triffitt commented: “Although Inter Milan remain firm favourites at 2/5 to secure the signature of Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku, recent reports indicate that Italian champions Juventus are very much in the race to purchase the Belgium international.

“The Old Lady have attracted support from 6/1 into 3/1 with social media speculating a possible transfer involving their striker Paulo Dybala. Punters have been quick to back the Red Devils into 6/4 market leaders from 4/1 to snap up the Argentine star and this swop deal may appeal more to United than a straight sale to Inter.”
