Kane grabs four as Foxes are hit for six

Tottenham Hotspur brushed aside any thoughts that they have already given up on their season with a spectacular 6-1 thrashing of Leicester City.

And Harry Kane was the star of the show as he put himself on course for the Golden Boot with four goals.

Chelsea ended Spurs’ title hopes last week, but they showed they have not turned off with a brilliant performance at the King Power.

Spurs were two goals to the good by the break with Kane and Son Heung-min scoring, before Ben Chilwell briefly gave the home side some hope they could get back into the game with his goal on the hour.

But Spurs soon made it 4-1, again with Kane and Son scoring.

Then Kane claimed two goals in the last-few minutes to make it four for the evening and move him to 26 for the season, moving him ahead of Romelu Lukaku and in the chase for the Premier League’s top-scorer prize.

It was the first home defeat for interim boss Craig Shakespeare – since his took-over from Claudio Ranieri.
