Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is odds-on to be crowned Player of the Year this season, despite the efforts of the likes of Harry Kane and Mo Salah.
De Bruyne has been the key player in what has thus far been an almost blemish free campaign from Pep Guardiola’s men and it is now an 80% probability that he is name the Premier League’s best.
Such has been the form of De Bruyne that he is now rated at 1/4 to claim the Player of the Year gong, despite the brilliant campaign from Liverpool star Salah – who has bagged 22 goals in his debut Premier League season – and Tottenham ace Kane, who is on course for a third consecutive Golden Boot.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “De Bruyne, Kane and Salah have undoubtedly been the best players of the campaign to date, but our traders reckon the Tottenham and Liverpool pair have some way to go if they’re to take the end of season gong away from the Belgian ace.”
Ladbrokes also looked at the most likely PFA Team of the Year, and Apati added: “This could be one of the most one-sided TOTYs in recent seasons, with over half of the players priced up being on City’s books.”
