Kevin Kilbane: WBA Squad Only Have Themselves To Blame For Relegation

Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Kevin Kilbane firmly believes that the players are to blame for their impending relegation from the Premier League.

Kilbane’s latest Boylesports blog addresses Alan Pardew’s departure from West Brom, The Baggies’ likely return to the Championship and he suggests the Champions League winner will be either Liverpool or Man City.

Despite some suggestions that Alan Pardew will find it difficult to get back into management following his dismissal after four months at the club, Kilbane disagrees,

“Pardew will be back further down the line somewhere. The squad didn’t respond to what he was doing with them on the training ground so that’s why they’re in the position that they’re in and that’s why they’re going down.”

As for West Brom’s relegation to the Championship, Kilbane says they simply have to regroup and give it everything they have, “West Brom need to draw a line under it now and look to next season and getting some confidence back in the side.”

With Liverpool and Man City going head-to-head in the Champions League quarter-finals, Kilbane is tipping The Reds to overcome the Blues and possibly go all the way.

“I actually fancy Liverpool. I think they’ll beat Man City across the two legs and will spring a surprise on everyone by winning the Champions League.”

He continued, “I think Liverpool v Real Madrid would be a great final. With the firepower and players that Liverpool possess, it would make for good viewing having them in the final.”

“Liverpool are a great price at 12/1 with BoyleSports to win the tournament.”
