The odds on British number one Johanna Konta winning a Grand Slam this year have been slashed after Serena Williams announced she is expecting her first child.
The world number two – who has won 23 major singles titles – has revealed she is 20 weeks into her pregnancy, meaning she won the Australian open earlier this year whilst pregnant.
The 35-year-old is now set to miss the rest of the season, meaning the odds have opened up for others.

Konta is now 7/2 from 11/2 to win one of the remaining three majors this year – she is 1/6 not to win.
She is 20/1 to win the French Open and 12/1 to win Wimbledon.
“Serena will now be out for the foreseeable future and her absence has really opened up the market for the French, Wimbledon and US Opens. Anyone could win now,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
