Lambert in for Hull job

Paul Lambert is already a leading contender to take over at Hull City after his departure from Wolverhampton Wolves was confirmed on Monday.

Lambert departed Wolves after accepting his future was away from Molineux, with the new owners looking for a big name foreign coach – with former Porto chief Nuno set to take part.

Lambert took charge at Wolves with them in trouble in the Championship in 19th place but he guided them to safety – which was his primary goal.

Now the former Norwich and Aston Villa boss is interesting a number of clubs after he became available and I understand that Hull are very keen to talk to him about their vacancy.

Sunderland are also believed to be showing an interest, and Lambert could yet emerge as a contender for the role at the Stadium of Light.

Lambert is already considered just 4/1 with BetVictor for the Hull City job.
