Latest Sigurdsson bid rejected but talks continue

Everton have seen their latest bid for Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson rejected but they will be back with another offer.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been on Everton’s shopping list for most of the summer – but whilst they have been successful in landing most of their target list, the Icelander remains unsigned.

The likes of Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen, Sandro Ramirez, Cuco Martina and Wayne Rooney have all signed on the dotted line for The Toffees and they are still pushing to make Sigurdsson another addition.

Everton’s latest offer is worth £45million but Swansea what a minimum of £50million for the former Tottenham star – and sources close to the Welsh club are confident that they will get what they want.

Ronald Koeman, who has been delighted with how Everton’s hierarchy have worked this summer, is desperate to have Sigurdsson available to him before the season starts in just under three weeks.

Most Bookmakers are adamant that Sigurdsson will be on his way to Goodison Park. SkyBet list them at 1/4 and as long as 7/2 to stay with Swansea.
