Bayern Munich have confirmed that they are trying to strike a deal for Leroy Sane.
We revealed last month that Sane was considering his future at Manchester City, as he was struggling to see any game time in any major games.
Since the start of February, Sane started just five league games – which highlights his issue and now City re ready to let Sane move on – but only if their terms are met.
City paid £37million to Schalke in 2014, but they want to at least double their money on the player, and Bayern are set to get close.
Bayern had been looking closely at Gareth Bale, but with his reluctance to leave Madrid – the German giants have turned to Sane.
When asked about Sane, club president Uli Hoeness confirmed to the Suddeutsche Zeitung: “We are working on this personnel matter.”
Bookmakers are also now backing Bayern, and BetVictor make them Evens to land the winger.
BetVictor’s Head of antepost Football commented: “Bayern Munich may have retained their Bundesliga crown but the German giants looked off the pace in Europe and need to strengthen to make a concerted bid for the champions league next season.
“Manchester City forward Leroy Sane played a reduced role this term in the Citizens domestic treble achievements and with Munich losing Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, see the German international as an ideal replacement to boost their squad. Punters have been quick to back the player into even money from 2/1 to make the move as Munich look to complete a deal.”
