Liverpool close on record Salah deal

Liverpool are confident that they will finalise the signing of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah this week.

Sources close to the deal have confirmed to me that terms have already been agreed between Liverpool and the player, and now the two clubs just need to finalise their deal.

Roma wanted nearly £40million for the 25-year-old, but they are set to accept a deal worth around £35million – which is still a profit of more than £20million for the Italian side within 12-months, who only completed the permanent signing of the player last summer.

Salah, who is understood to have been a childhood Liverpool fan, is now getting ready to fly to England to complete a medical.

TheGamblingTimes.com revealed last month that Salah was one of Jurgen Klopp’s top summer transfer targets, and the Liverpool boss will be delighted to know that the deal is coming close to being finalised.

The deal, when confirmed, is also set to break Liverpool’s current club record deal – which is currently for the £35million they paid for Andy Carroll back in 2011.

Some bookmakers are still taking bets on Salah moving to Liverpool with SkyBet quoting 1/20 on the deal going through.
