Wantaway Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has confirmed that he agreed to join the club he wants to join this summer – understood to be his former employers Chelsea.
The 24-year-old rejected the offer of a new deal at Everton some months ago, making it known he wanted to leave Goodison Park this summer.

A host of clubs including Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain have been linked but Chelsea have long been the favourites to re-sign him.
The Blues know they will have to smash their transfer record to land him, and have been in informal talks with Everton for weeks and barring any major u-turns, Lukaku remains on his way to Stamford Bridge – who he only played 10 games for, before he left in 2014.
“I know what’s happening but I can’t tell you anything more. I know what’s happening but will leave the talks to my agent – but I am the player, I make the decisions,” said Lukaku, who is currently on international duty with Everton.
“We have an agreement with the club as well, so we just stay calm, but at least we have a direction where we want to go.
“The most important thing is; I want to win trophies. We are now talking to THE club, as for the rest, I am looking ahead.
“I would like most to play in the Champions League and try and win the Premier League once, or better – a few times. That would be the most beautiful thing. That’s important for my progress as a player.
“I don’t want to stay at the same level, I want to improve and I know where I want to do that.”
“I don’t want to stay at the same level, I want to improve and I know where I want to do that.”
Chelsea and Everton are yet to agree terms, but it could very well take a world record fee of £90million plus to do a deal.
And despite Diego Costa’s insistence that he is staying at Stamford Bridge, I understand that has not detracted Chelsea from their search for another striker.
We spoke with BetVictor’s Head of antepost Football Michael Triffitt to talk about the market around Lukaku and his future.
“It will be a major surprise if Romelu Lukaku is still at Goodison when the season kicks off again and the Belgium continues to be linked heavily with a number of clubs.
“A return to Chelsea is favourite at BetVictor with a short hop over to Manchester and a move to Old Trafford 4/1.”
