Manchester City are on course for a record breaking year, and they are on course to become the earliest crowned champions in Premier League history.
City are already considered champions-elect, and a number of Bookmakers have already paid out on them winning the title.
They are currently on a 16-match winning streak – a Premier League record, and many feel they will go the season unbeaten and will that lead to them becoming only the third team in English history to go unbeaten, they are 5/1 to become the new Invincibles – last achieved by Arsenal in 2004.
City are on course to beat Chelsea’s record of 30 wins in a Premier League season with 17 to their name already and the Blues points record of 95 also looks in danger – they are 2/5 to break that mark.
But beating local rivals Manchester United is always a big deal and the one record from Old Trafford they could mark off – is United being the earliest Premier League champions, when they lifted the trophy at the end of April in 2001.
Indeed, with their current form – it could be done by March!
Bookmakers are 8/13 that they will be crowned champions earlier than anyone else.
PaddyPower told us: “City could be the Premier League’s greatest ever champions – so why not earliest?
“We make them odds-on to break pretty much every record going this season.”
