Manchester United are not in a hurry to let Anthony Martial leave this summer, despite the fact the player wants to depart.
The French star has been unsettled for well over 12-months, and he was hugely disappointed to miss out on a place in his country’s World Cup squad – which he put down to his in-and-out season at Old Trafford.
His agent Philippe Lamboley confirmed in June that Martial wanted out, and nothing has changed.
Tottenham Hotpsur were first to show interest and they remain keen, but the deal appears to be too far for Daniel Levy to stretch, whilst Juventus also maintain an interest but with Cristiano Ronaldo have already signed they have other priorities.
Chelsea have now emerged as candidates to try and do a deal, whilst Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have joined the chase.
But United – who themselves have had limited success in the transfer market so far this summer – are standing firm, and appear in little hurry to let Martial depart, especially as they have the likes of Juan Mata and Ander Herrera, who may leave.
And the Bookmakers in agreement with United, in that they believe he will stay put – with PaddyPower making him 1/4 to still be with The Red Devils come the close of the transfer window.
