Manchester United to build around Marcus Rashford

Manchester United chiefs have told Marcus Rashford that they full intend on building their team around in him in the years to come.

The England forward is already considered one of the best young talents in world football, although boss Jose Mourinho still uses him sparingly at times – much to the 21-year-old’s annoyance.

He has started just five Premier League games so far this season, and that has seen him consider his future – although sources close to him insist that he is desperate to stay with United.

Real Madrid and Juventus have been linked in recent months, but United are showing no desire to let him go and sources within United have confirmed to me that they have assured him that he is a ‘key’ to their future.

Rashford’s current deal runs to 2020, meaning that United have time on their side but they want to get his future resolved before it becomes a major issue.

United are set to offer Rashford a deal worth up to £150,000-a-week – which they feel will show him just how highly they still think of him, and will hope to banish any thoughts he has of looking at other options.

Bookmakers firmly believe that should Rashford leave, it would be to Real Madrid with Ladbrokes listing them at just 2/1 to be his next club.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The latest odds suggest Man United have it all to do if they’re to keep hold of their key players over the coming weeks and months.”
