Manchester waits on Sanchez decision

Manchester City and Manchester United are both waiting on Alexis Sanchez – who has the chance to join both clubs.

Sanchez has made it clear to Arsenal that he will not be signing a new deal, and with his contract expiring in the summer – when he could leave for free.

Arsenal’s hierarchy have decided to try and sell the Chilean this month, but their asking price of over £30million is more than Man City want to pay this month.

Sanchez had mate City his preferred destination and terms understood to have already been agreed ahead of a move in the summer, if a deal this month could not be done.

However, Arsenal want him out the door in this window which has opened the door for United, who have now come in aggressively and are ready to meet the asking price – which gives Sanchez the option of where he wants to play.

City remain confident that Sanchez wants to play for Pep Guardiola. but United are also confident that their move to get him this month will convince him to sign for them.

Arsenal are hopeful that Sanchez will go this month and he was left out of their squad to face Bournemouth at the weekend with Arsene Wenger confirming he may well be leaving.

“It could happen today or tomorrow or not at all,” Wenger said, when asked about Sanchez leaving.

Bookmakers remain convinced that if Sanchez moves this month, then Man United will win the battle for his signature.

PaddyPower make him 1/4 to join United if he moves this month, with City at 23/10.
