Market Movers with Unibet – Jan 28

Unibet’s racing trader Will Petit brings us their biggest market moves and ones to watch from Monday’s racing action.

KEMPTON

Talkischeap

1.30pm
6/4 from 13/8

This three mile Novice Chase at Kempton Park looks the race of the day with On The Blind Side and White Moon among rivals for the well supported favourite TALKISCHEAP. Alan King’s 7yo has had a good season over fences, including when second to subsequent Grade 1 winner La Bague Au Roi, and main market rival On The Blind Side was poor on his chase debut at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day. A mouthwatering contest, and it’s King’s gelding who looks likely to go off clear favourite.

Billy Lagan

2.40pm
18/1 from 40/1

BILLY LAGAN was pulled up on his last two starts but that hasn’t put punters off backing the 11yo each-way in this nine runner contest. Robin Dickin’s latest runner was a 16/1 winner (for the same talented 5lb claimer) and his charge has slipped to a handy mark following some questionable efforts this season. It’s a bit of a leap of faith but the market support is notable and a bounce back to form might just be in the offing.

LUDLOW

Scaramanga

1.45pm
8/11 from 6/5

Punters aren’t looking to complicate the opener at Ludlow as they look to get off to a golden start with SCARAMANGA. Unexposed on the flat, he switches to hurdles today on his debut for Paul Nicholls. This doesn’t look a deep race and the main market rival is relatively weak this morning despite a mark of 136 based on French form.

EPSOM DOWNS

Dubai Warrior

The Investec Derby (antepost)
14/1 from 25/1

DUBAI WARRIOR has been nibbled for June’s Investec Derby, a race we are proud to be the official betting partner of. The son of Dansili is supremely well bred and in the right hands to boot! John Gosden has recent history of debuting his good ones on the All-Weather and this one impressed the ‘sectionalistas’ when winning in fine fashion at Chelmsford. He was very strong in the market that day, suggesting he’s well thought of and the mile and a half trip should be spot on. One for the trackers!

We’re paying an extra place on the 4.30pm at Ludlow and both the 6.55pm and 7.55pm at Wolverhampton. As ever, prices are subject to change.
