Bookmakers have closed their market on Jordan Pickford as Everton close on a deal for the Sunderland goalkeeper.

The Toffees have agreed a deal which could be worth up to £30million – although the initial payment will be considerably less.

The 23-year-old is currently with England Under-21 squad – but will complete the details of the move later this month.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester City both showed an interest in Pickford, but it is Everton’s ability to offer first-team football that has swayed the Sunderland man towards Goodison Park.

BetVictor’s Head of antepost Football Michael Triffitt closed their book after he was backed into 1/10.

“Everton have been strongly linked and well backed during the last month so it’s no great surprise if a move to Goodison materialises. Arsenal was the other possible destination but the Gunners have eased to 5/1 from 3/1,” he told TheGamblingTimes.com.
