Bookmakers have been forced to slash their odds on Kylian Mbappe’s next club after Real Madrid reportedly launched a bid to land him.
Reports emanating from the Spanish capital claim that Madrid have agreed terms with Monaco on a potential world record deal of £160million with further add-ons.
Sources close to the French champions have been quick to down-play the links, but people close to Madrid believe a deal is close.
The news has caught many by surprise, and Bookmakers were forced to close their markets with punters looking to latch on.
Now most are back-up but have Real now installed as odds-on favourites.
Ladbrokes list the European champions at 1/5 to land Mbappe, while it’s just 3/1 that the 18-year-old stays on the French Riviera after all.
Arsenal have drifted right out to 14/1 from 4/1.
Richard Marsh of Ladbrokes News said: “For a while we were poised to welcome a new record transfer, but we aren’t closing the book on Mbappe to Real Madrid just yet.”
