Kylian Mbappe is firm favourite to be the man to break the world transfer record – if it goes this summer.
The Monaco striker is being strongly linked with a move away from the Principality, and should he leave – it is almost certain that it would need a figure above the £100million mark to land him.
The current record is held by Manchester United – who paid £89million to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus last summer.
Bookmakers are convinced if the record does go, it will be Mbappe and Ladbrokes price him up at 1/3 accordingly.
Neymar is the next most likely name to break the record at 5/2, with Man United now just 4/1 (from 12/1) to sign the Barcelona ace this summer.
Romelu Lukaku has been heavily linked with a return to Chelsea during this transfer window and 9/2 says he goes for £89m+, while Antoine Griezmann (6/1) and Andrea Belotti (8/1) are less likely to set a new record transfer fee.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Kylian Mbappe is attracting interest from a whole host of elite clubs right now, but the latest odds are suggesting a record-breaking bid must be made in order to land the French star.”
