McInnes strong favourite for Sunderland role

Derek McInnes is now the strong favourite with bookmakers for the Sunderland job.

TheGamblingTimes.com revealed exclusively, through our Football Insider Graeme Bailey, on Monday that McInnes was already the leading contender for the job.

Now bookmakers have been forced to drastically cut McInnes from nearly 20/1 at the start of the week to odds-on in places.

We spoke to BetVictor’s Head of ante post Football Michael Triffitt – who have cut McInnes into Evens for the post.

“The Scot is reportedly on the Black Cats shortlist and has been backed from an opening 12/1 to current even money with Bet Victor,” he told TheGamblingTimes.com.

“This has already been an interesting market with support for a number of candidates but McInness seems a logical solution, in a market that often defies logic, to take over at the Stadium of Light!”

McInnes is currently preparing for his final game of the season with Aberdeen, and it is a big one as it is the Scottish FA Cup final on Saturday against Celtic.

Our Football Insider Graeme Bailey has gave us an update on the Sunderland situation: “Their chief executive Martin Bain is working very hard behind the scenes to find a new manager, but McInnes remains at the top of the list but their is little more they can now do due to Aberdeen been in action this weekend.

“I would expect things to move on early next week.”
