Modric wants to follow Ronaldo to Italy

Luka Modric’s agent has confirmed that the Croatian does want to move to Italy this summer.

Inter Milan are keen on securing a deal for the 32-year-old, who claimed the Golden Ball for the best player at this summer’s World Cup finals.

Modric has seen team-mate and good friend Cristiano Ronaldo move to Serie A with Juventus, and now he is keen to make a similar move to Inter.

Modric’s agent Marko Naletilic revealed: “The fact Inter Milan tried to sign him and Modric took it into consideration shows the influence Cristiano Ronaldo is already having on Italian football,.

“For whatever reason, Modric wants to be a star in Serie A with Inter. Let’s see. I believe that sooner or later Luka will play in Italy. Like a lot of Croatians his age, he grew up watching Italian football.”

As it stands Real have shown little desire to allow another of their big names to leave, although they are reportedly looking at potential replacements with Lazio’s highly-rated Serb Sergei Milinkovic-Savic the man understood to be on top of their list.

As it stands Bookmakers certainly don’t see Modric leaving Madrid this summer with PaddyPower rating him at 1/14 and 6/1 to join Inter.
