The odds on Jose Mourinho leaving Manchester United have been slashed, and he is odds-on to leave before their next league match.
Mourinho saw his side come from two goals down to beat Newcastle United 3-2 in a dramatic game on Saturday, but that seems to have done little to secure his future.
United have suffered their poorest start to a league season this century, and it was claimed that Mourinho was due to be sacked this weekend – no matter the result against Newcastle.
Old Trafford officials were quick to deny that Mourinho’s future had already been decided, but it remains to be seen if he will still be in charge when United return from the international break, when they will face Chelsea.
Bookmakers think Mourinho will be sacked by that point, with Paddy Power making it odds-on at 4/6.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Regardless of the wider issues at Manchester United, of which there are clearly many, Jose Mourinho’s role as manager is untenable.
“It won’t be a cheap dismissal for the Old Trafford club, just think of the room service bill after two-and-a-half years in a hotel definitely committing to the club.
“Special once, the Special One is odds-on not to be in charge for United’s next fixture.”
