Nabil Fekir still in Liverpool’s thoughts

Nabil Fekir is still in Liverpool’s thinking, and the player would love to make the move to Anfield.

Fekir almost joined Liverpool in the summer but issues over a medical saw The Reds want to restructure the details – but Lyon said no.

The midfielder played his part in France’s World Cup triumph and has since enjoyed a good start to the new season, which included a starring role in Lyon’s shock Champions League win at Manchester City.

The 25-year-old Lyon captain has insisted ever since his move collapsed that he was only focused on playing – but sources close to the player have confirmed that he would still love to make the switch to Anfield.

“What happened with Liverpool is straight out of my head, I turned the page,” said Fekir.

But Liverpool are no longer alone in their admiration of the player. Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City were already keen and now Spanish giants Real Madrid have joined the chase for his services.

Fekir’s current deal with Lyon runs to 2020, but there has been little talk of an extension with Lyon seemingly gearing up to cash in on their prized asset in the not too distant future.

As it stands Bookmakers believe that Real Madrid have stolen a march on their Premier League rivals and BetVictor make them 3/1 favourites to land the French ace.
