Nabil Fekir talks progressing

Liverpool’s chase of Nabil Fekir is progressing and they still hope to complete the deal before the World Cup finals begin next week.

The 24-year-old has emerged as a prime target for The Reds, and is seen as the ideal replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who they sold to Barcelona in January.

It is understand that Fekir has all but agreed his terms, although the two clubs are yet to close out a deal – with Liverpool not wanting to go over £50million.

Lyon are currently asking around £60, but sources believe the two could very well meet in the middle – although the French outfit are seemingly happy for Fekir to play in Russia first, which could very well bump up his value – something Liverpool want to avoid.

Bookmakers are convinced that Fekir will be calling Anfield home.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Nabil Fekir has had an excellent season with Lyon, bagging 21 goals to seal a successful campaign in front of goal.

“That has brought him to the attention of not only France boss Didier Deschamps, who has included him in the national squad for the World Cup, but also to Jurgen Klopp, who is keen to replace Philippe Coutinho this summer.

“The current Lyon captain hasn’t distanced himself from a move either, with reports claiming he is keen to prove his credentials in the Premier League. With that in mind, we make him just 1/6 to join the Champions League finalists, while he’s 3/1 to remain at his boyhood club.”
