Neymar has been encouraged to ‘be brave’ in deciding whether to quit Barcelona for Paris Saint German, by his close friend Dani Alves.

Alves, who himself has just made the move to Paris, played a role in helping convince Neymar to move to Barcelona when he joined from Santos and now he is hoping to do the same again.

“It’s an important decision for him and it’s the kind of decision men have to make. He’s one of my best friends and I’ll always want him by my side, but I can not interfere,” said Alves.

“I helped him come to Barcelona, I did not make the decision for him, but I told him what Barcelona was like and he decided to move there. Decisions are for the brave and I am the bravest of all.

“It’s a decision you have to make carefully but you have to be selfish. If I could advise one thing it would be: be brave, the world belongs to the brave.”

Neymar is understood to be close to agreeing terms on what would be a world record move to Barcelona – who would be helpless to stop him leaving if PSG they meet his £195million release clause.
