Neymar is still hoping that he could complete a shock move back to Spain this month.
The 27-year-old shocked the world when he decided to join Paris Saint Germain in 2017, when they paid his £200million release clause.
Now after a largely disappointing stay in the French capital, Neymar is hoping to end his stint – whilst PSG are listening to approaches – but they are making it clear that they are unlikely to accept any players in part exchange and they want to recoup the £200m they paid.
Now Neymar’s suitors – his former club Barcelona and their arch-rivals Real Madrid – have both started conversations with the player, and PSG.
The Spanish clubs have until the first week in September to try and finalise a deal, and Bookmakers believe there is a real chance.
Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Reports suggest the PSG club shop has stopped selling Neymar shirts and it seems unlikely that it’s anything to do with the Brazilian’s current level of popularity in the French capital.
“Neymar has made it clear that he wants to return to La Liga and Barcelona are heavily fancied to welcome the 27-year-old back to the Nou Camp before the end of the European summer window.
“The transfer window for Spain and France slams shut on 2nd September and Barca are fancied at 2/5 to seal a deal for Neymar before then, while he’s 3/1 to sign for Real Madrid and as big as 6/1 to stay at PSG.”
