Pressure is growing and growing on Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, after their latest defeat.
United lost 3-1 at West Ham which means they have suffered their worst start to a Premier League season for 29-years, and follows on from their midweek League Cup loss to Championship Derby County.
Mourinho’s future has been under the spotlight since the summer when he questioned the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market.
Since then, their form and his seemingly public falling out with star player Paul Pogba, which has seen him stripped of his vice-captain role by Mourinho, has all contributed to the Portuguese being odds-on to depart United before the end of the season.
BoyleSports have now slashed Mourinho into 11/8 from 5/2 to be the next Premier League manager to go, with Neil Warnock now a distant second favourite at 6/1.
Mourinho was also backed into Even money to have left Manchester United by Christmas, but he is also now an odds-on shot at 8/11 from 5/4 to be gone by the end of the season.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “It’s been another eventful week at Manchester United and from the bets we’ve taken after the final whistle, it’s safe to say that punters are convinced the net is closing in on Jose Mourinho.
“He’s now odds-on to be gone by the end of the season but our customers at least are showing confidence that he’ll fall on his sword sooner rather than later.”
