The ongoing Coronavirus epidemic is set to see the Olympics postponed, according to Bookmakers.
Japan is due to hold the games, beginning at the end of July – but with over 200 confirmed cases it now appears that there is a major question mark over whether the games go-ahead.
Paddy Power have gone odds-on that this year’s Olympics will be cancelled.
The Irish bookmakers make it 4/6 – which represents a 60% chance – for the outbreak to cancel this summer’s games in Tokyo.
While the chances of the tournament going ahead are now out at 11/10 due to the threat of Covid-19.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “More people are being infected by Coronavirus, including in Japan, and we make it odds-on for officials move to cancel the Tokyo Olympic Games.
“In fact, we see it as far more likely that they will be off, than on, at this stage.”
