Palace consider Roy Hodgson

Former England boss Roy Hodgson is being eyed by Crystal Palace as a potential replacement for Sam Allardyce.

Alladryce announced he was leaving Selhurst Park at the weekend, catching many – including Palace – by surprise but the Eagles are already quickly compiling a list of potential candidates, and Hodgson has featured in conversations.

Marco Silva and Garry Monk – who have both quit their respective roles at Hull City and Leeds United – are the leading fancies with the bookmakers to take the job.

However, sources have told me that Hodgson should not be discounted and that he could very well be an ideal option for The Eagles.

The former Fulham chief is settled in the capital and has turned down numerous approaches for jobs in recent months – including Norwich, whose owner Delia Smith was desperate to tempt him to Norfolk.

But now the Palace job is available and Hodgson is set to come under consideration for the role.

BetVictor are offering 8/1 on Hodgson to land the role, with Monk and Silva vying for favouritism.
