Palace could axe Frank de Boer

Crystal Palace are considering pulling the plug on Frank de Boer’s tenure as boss.

The Dutchman lasted less than 90 days in his last job at Inter Milan – but he is now in danger of not making the 70-day mark with The Eagles.

Palace have lost all three of their Premier League games so far this season, with the weekend’s loss to Swansea being a major low point.

The club have also struggled to land some of their top targets in the transfer window, and de Boer is understood to have expressed his concerns to chairman Steve Parish.

Parish is far from happy and along with the rest of the club’s hierarchy they are considering their options – which includes replacing him.

It is now far from certain that de Boer will be in charge ahead of Palace’s next at Burnley next month.

We spoke to BetVictor’s Head of the antepost Football Michael Triffitt about the market around the next Premier League manager to go, which de Boer now heads.

“It’s looking like a two horse race between new Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer and West Ham gaffer Slaven Bilic in the race to avoid been the first Premier League manager to go market,” he said.

“The Dutchman has made a poor start at Selhurst Park and despite only been appointed in the summer is now a hot favourite at 1-2 to go next.

“Bilic struggled last term and this has seem the Hammers make a poor start so once again the Croatian is under immediate pressure and 6/4 to go first.

“It’s 12/1 bar those two with Rafa Benitez on the drift after his Newcastle side put West Ham to the sword last weekend.”
