Pogba becomes most valuable player

Paul Pogba is now worth more than Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar to become the most valuable footballer in the world’s football stock market, Football Index.

Following reports of Jose Mourinho claiming the French midfielder will never captain United again, and after he stormed out of Old Trafford midway through the Red Devils’ defeat to Derby County in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, Pogba’s share price has soared.

Available to buy on Football Index at £12.71 a share at 12pm on Tuesday, that price rocketed to £14.48 24 hours later, as investors have raced to snap up the in-demand midfielder.

Football Index offers dividends for media mentions, as well as for player performance – and shrewd Football Index players have wasted no time in buying shares in Pogba, who’s name has been on every back page.

That rush of investment has seen the Frenchman leap ahead of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar as the most valuable player on the index – with his price set to continue rising as speculation over his United future continues.

Adam Cole, founder and CEO of Football INDEX, said:”The stunning revelation that Jose Mourinho will not allow Paul Pogba to captain Manchester United again under his watch has caused a media storm.

“Football Index pays out dividends to traders who own shares in the ‘top trending’ player in the media each day, and traders obviously feel that Pogba is going to be in the news for quite some time.

“His percentage rise to over £14 per share has been spectacular and there is a belief within the Football Index community that his stock will keep going up.”
