Real Madrid are firmly till in contention to land Paul Pogba, with their captain Sergio Ramos emphasising how highly thought of he is in the Spanish capital.
Pogba confirmed over the summer his desire to quit Old Trafford and his agent Mino Raiola was looking to move him to the Santiago Bernabeu – where Zinedine Zidane was anxious to land him.
With the future of David De Gea unknown and the sale of Romelu Lukaku, it is understood United’s hierarchy did not want to lose a big name such as Pogba during this window.
And now Real have confirmed through their captain that they remain keen, are likely to return for him in 2020.
“I think Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him,” Ramos is quoted as saying.
“For me, Pogba is one of the great players. He is different and he has shown his value at Juventus and now Manchester United.
“I think he brings balance to a team. He has a great offensive influence and he has this amazing physique.”
And Real Madrid remain firm favourites to land Pogba, with BetVictor making them 6/1 to land him in January.
