Leaders Manchester City lost to Liverpool, which gives United the chance to finally try and narrow their advantage.
United are hosting relegated threatened Stoke City – who have just appointed Paul Lambert as their new boss, but he won’t officially take charge until Tuesday although he will be watching from the stands and be hoping for a good performance at the very least.
