Premier League Saturday Preview

There is an action packed Premier League programme which kicks-off with arguably the biggest game in English football as Manchester United host arch-rivals Liverpool.

The match is made all the more interesting as they are battling for second place, with the two teams swapping places over the last two weekends.

United are currently in second – 16 points behind leaders Manchester City, who are not in action until Monday, but they would surrender that spot if they lost.

Chelsea in fifth have the chance to close the gap on Tottenham in fifth, as Spurs are not playing until Sunday – with Antonio Conte’s side hosting third-from-bottom Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

Bottom of-the-table West Bromwich Albion are looking to end their nightmare run as they host Leicester City at the Hawthorns. Should the Foxes win and they could move up to seventh – if Burnley lost at West Ham  – who are just three points above the drop-zone.

There is a real six-pointer at St James’ Park as 16th plays 17th with Newcastle host Southampton, with only a point separating the sides.

See below for a preview on the game, including predictions from former England, Crystal Palace and Tottenham midfielder Andy Gray and our own Football Insider Graeme Bailey and bet365’s Steve Freeth.
