Premier League Saturday Preview

Manchester City will be crowned Premier League champions on Saturday if they beat rivals Manchester United.

The two clash in the Cottonopolis derby in the final game on Saturday, with City already leading by 16-points, and they will eagerly be looking to claim the title against their neighbours and bitter rivals.

However, a heavy midweek Champions League defeat to Liverpool – could see their minds remaining on Europe, despite having United in town, but they will be anxious to bounce back to form and put the title to bed.

Should United fail to beat City, then Liverpool have the chance to move above them into second as they also face a derby clash as they make the short-trip across Stanley Park to face Everton in the day’s early kick-off.

Defeat for ninth placed Everton could see them drop into the bottom-half of the table – with Bournemouth, who host Crystal Palace, and Watford, who face Burnley, both able to move above Sam Allardyce’s men with victory.

Should Liverpool suffer defeat at Goodison Park, Tottenham will have the chance to climb above them into third as they travel to second-from-bottom Stoke City – who remain three-points off safety.

Bottom-of-the-table begin life after Alan Pardew’s tenure with first-team coach Darren Moore in charge as they entertain Swansea, but their relegation to the Championship looks imminent.

Huddersfield remain just three points off the drop zone, and they face a trip to fellow promoted side Brighton – who are three points better off in 13th place, but victory for The Terriers would drag the Seagulls into trouble.

The final game sees eighth place Leicester host Newcastle, knowing a win would take them above Burnley into seventh.
