Premier League Saturday Preview

Liverpool look to maintain their perfect start to the new season on Saturday and move back to the top of the Premier League table.

The Reds are currently second in the table only behind the only other team with a 100% record, Chelsea, on goal difference but with Maurizio Sarri’s team not playing until Sunday, it allows Jurgen Klopp’s men to get in first.

They will go top if they avoid defeat to at home to Southampton, indeed they will be looking for a six successive win, a feat they have only ever achieved three times in their history.

Champions Manchester City will also move above Chelsea if they beat win-less Cardiff City in the Welsh capital.

The Bluebirds are one of four teams still to register a win this season, and the other three are also in action. Huddersfield host Leicester, Newcastle travel to London to face Crystal Palace whilst bottom-of-the-table Burnley welcome former boss Eddie Howe and his Bournemouth side to Turf Moor.

Tottenham are looking to put an end to a dismal run of form, which has seen them lose back to back league games, and their opening Champions League clash, as they travel to Brighton.

Manchester United are very much back in form and Wolves as the visitors to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho meets fellow countryman Nuno.

The other game is the opening clash of the weekend as Fulham play host to Watford – who are looking to bounce back after their first loss of the season last week.

See below for a preview on the games, including predictions from former England, Crystal Palace and Tottenham midfielder Andy Gray and our own Football Insider Graeme Bailey and bet365’s Steve Freeth.
