Premier League Saturday Preview

Champions Manchester City and runners-up Liverpool are both in action on the second Saturday of the Premier League season looking for successive wins.

City host Tottenham in the final game of the day in what is undoubtedly the pick of this weekend’s fixtures.

Before City kick-off, Liverpool travel to Southampton looking to follow for a third success in a week after also picking up the UEFA Super Cup in midweek.

The day’s opening game sees Arsenal host Burnley – both coming into the game after opening day win, so one or both of their perfect records will disappear.

Newly promoted duo Aston Villa and Norwich both host their first games since returning to the top-flight looking for their first points of the new season. Villa welcome Bournemouth whilst Newcastle are due a Carrow Road.

Brighton opened their season in brilliant fashion after thrashing Watford and will look to keep that going at home to West Ham. The Hornets look to bounce back as they visit Everton.

See below for a preview on the games, including predictions from former England, Crystal Palace and Tottenham midfielder Andy Gray and our own Football Insider Graeme Bailey and bet365’s Steve Freeth.
