Table topping Liverpool, who still possess a 100% record in the Premier League this season, face their toughest task to date as they host third place Leicester City.
Foxes boss and former Reds chief Brendan Rodgers makes his return to Anfield, and will no doubt receive a warm welcome – although he will be hoping to put an end to their run of seven successive wins at the start of this season.
Victory for Rodgers and Leicester would take them into second as Manchester City don’t play until Sunday.
The day begins on the South Coast with Brighton hosting an out-of-sorts Tottenham, who are recovering from their 7-2 hammering at the hands of Bayern Munich in midweek.
West Ham United host London rivals Crystal Palace in the day’s late kick-off. but they could end the day in third place with victory.
Everton are looking to avoid four successive league defeats, but they face a tough looking task as they visit Lancashire rivals Burnley.
Another team in dire need of a win are Watford, who are yet to pick up a victory this term and new boss Quique Sanchez Flores will be hoping the basement club can beat Sheffield United at Vicrage Road.
And whilst too early to be called a six-pointer, it is 17th v 18th at Carrow Road as Norwich take on Aston Villa.
See below for a preview on the games, including predictions from former England, Crystal Palace and Tottenham midfielder Andy Gray and our own Football Insider Graeme Bailey and bet365’s Steve Freeth.
