Premier League Saturday Preview

With Premier League leaders Liverpool on duty at the Club World Cup – reigning champions Manchester City and second placed Leicester City take centre stage.

Man City and Leicester face off in the final game of the day, in what is no doubt the game of the weekend. A win for Leicester would move them to within seven points of Liverpool and seven ahead of City.

The day’s opening game is probably the most fascinating as Everton and Arsenal clash, with both set to be under new management next week with Carlo Ancelotti and Mikel Arteta ready to take up their positions.

Seventh placed Sheffield United’s wonderful run of form means victory for them at Brighton will see them moved up to fifth as both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur don’t play until Sunday.

Victory for Wolverhampton Wanderers at second from bottom Norwich will also see them move about United and Spurs, for at least 24 hours.

There is a real six-pointer at Villa Park as fourth bottom Aston Villa welcome third bottom Southampton – with only goal-difference separating the two clubs at the moment.

There are also two big games in mid-table with Newcastle hosting Crystal Palace and Bournemouth taking on Burnley.

See below for a preview on the games, including predictions from former England, Crystal Palace and Tottenham midfielder Andy Gray and our own Football Insider Graeme Bailey and bet365’s Steve Freeth.
