Pressure mounts on Pardew as WBA eye replacements

West Bromwich Albion are ready to end Alan Pardew’s spell in charge of the club after a sixth successive defeat.

The Baggies hierarchy were told last month to start looking for possible replacement by owner Guochuan Lai, who sacked chairman John Williams and CEO Martin Goodman.

Now Lai is ready to axe Pardew, who was only appointed as successor to Tony Pulis at the end of November but in his 15 league games he has overseen just one win, and has lost their last six – to leave them eight points adrift of safety, indeed they are seven points adrift of second bottom.

Pardew admits his future is out of his hands and said: “People turn this into a personal situation.

“But this is about West Brom and not me. And if the consequences are that I lose my job, then that is what it is.”

Bookmakers are seemingly convinced that Pardew will leave and he is cut to 1/3 to be next Premier League manager to leave which is a probability of 75%.
