Paris Saint Germain have seen their odds on landing Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez chopped after being given encouragement to move for the Chilean as The Gunners do not want to sell to Manchester City.
City remain confident that they can land the Arsenal man, who has made it clear he wants to play Champions League football – something he can’t do at The Emirates next season.
With less than 12-months left on his current deal, and a new deal unlikely to be signed, Arsenal have to decide what to do with him.
I understand that Arsenal are very much against letting Sanchez move to City, and if they do sell they would much rather that was to PSG.
Sanchez is understood to prefer City, but a move to PSG would also been considered by his camp, and Arsenal do their best to push him to the French capital, if they did sell.
Bookmakers have now slashed the odds on Sanchez to 2/1 from 25/1 for Sanchez to join PSG.
Ladbrokes remain somewhat cautious on Neymar’s chances, with the Brazilian’s odds on joining Les Parisiens trimmed slightly from 3/1 to 9/4 in light of recent reports.
A double-swoop hasn’t been ruled out, with the French heavyweights 9/1 to land both players this summer.
Ladbrokes News’ Richard Marsh said: “Sanchez wants Champions League football, yet Arsenal are unlikely to sell to a Premier League rival, leaving PSG in a very strong position.”
“But they’re chasing Neymar too, and we aren’t ruling out the French giants making two huge signings this summer.”
