Pulisic could wait for big move

Christian Pulisic could shun a big-money move to England in January, in order to see what options are available to him in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund are set consider offers for the brilliant young American, who can play anywhere across the forward line, or in midfield.

Chelsea have been showing a real interest, as they consider bolstering their squad in January – whilst Liverpool are long-term admirers with Jurgen Klopp a fan of the player from their brief time together at Dortmund.

But 20-year-old Pulisic is considering his options and his advisers believe he should not rush into an exit in January, unless the move is right.

And Dortmund remain insistent that they are in no hurry to let any of their players leave this January.

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Michael Zorc said: “We will not sell a player in winter who’s essential to us achieving our sporting aims, of course. That’s a matter of fact.”

Bookmakers believe that Pulisic could very well end up at Chelsea in January, but him staying at Dortmund remains the most likely scenario.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Christian Pulisic could be hot property this January and after months of speculation the betting suggests Chelsea are getting very close to signing their man.

“The Blues are now as short as 5/4 to sign the 20-year-old having been 7/4 a few days ago, with Sarri and Co keen to cement their position in the top-four whilst dealing with the strain of competing in four different competitions.

“Despite Dortmund’s fast start to the season, they have drifted from 1/2 to 8/13 to keep hold of the young American and boss Lucien Favre may have to let him go.”
