Bookmakers are reporting a huge number of bets coming in for Conor McGregor to beat Floyd Mayweather in their hugely anticipated boxing clash next month.

The Irish MMA superstar and boxing legend Mayweather have been on a worldwide publicity tour ahead of the fight, which is expected to gross over £100million in bets alone.

McGregor was rated at 6/1 but such has been the force of money coming in for the UFC man, Bookmakers have cut him to 9/2.

WilliamHill have revealed that 83% of punters are backing McGregor ahead of the clash in Las Vegas on August 26th.

William Hill currently make Mayweather their 1/7 favourite – he was previously 1/12.

“Conor McGregor, with no professional boxing experience, should be a 100/1 shot to beat arguably the greatest boxer of all-time,” said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny

“However, our punters seem believe McGregor could create one of the great sporting upsets on 26 August”
