Punters going after Parker but Joshua odds-on

Joseph Parker is attracting a lot of interest from punters ahead of his clash with Anthony Joshua, but the British superstar remains massively odds on.

Parker, like Joshua, us unbeaten and is a world champion in his own right, holding the WBO belt which he is putting on his line as he hopes to take the WBA and IBF titles from Joshua.

The two clash at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Saturday with 78,000 fans flocking to what promises to be one of the biggest fights of 2018 with box office figures set to be smashed.

Fight sponsors, William Hill, make Joshua a 1/8 to defeat Parker – who is 11/2 to create what would rank as a big upset.

“Despite the relatively prohibitive odds of 1/8 on Joshua winning the fight, we expect betting turnover will certainly be in eight figures,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

“AJ is a British sporting icon and we expect all the big punters will be out in force to back him. There was a time when eight figure turnover for boxing would be a great weekend, with Joshua, it is now just the norm.”

Hills offer odds of 50/1 that Joshua reaches a record of 50-0 in his career.
