Rodgers wants Sturridge reunion

Brendan Rodgers wants Daniel Sturridge to come and recapture his form and love of the game with him at Leicester City.

Sturridge is set to become a free agent in the summer, but at 29 – Rodgers still feels he has the ability to perform at the highest level.

Jurgen Klopp has told Sturridge that he is open to offering the player a new deal, but it would be on vastly reduced terms and his chances would be limited.

Sturridge, though, believes he can still recapture his best form and even return to the England squad.

A number of clubs have shown an interest including West Ham, Newcastle and Everton – who are willing to offer him a switch across Stanley Park – whilst there is also clubs across Europe and also in China and America, who have made touch with his representatives.

But Rodgers hopes the chance to play under him again would tempt Sturridge into making the move to the King Power, and the fact he is a free transfer also means it would not impact on his summer budget.

Bookmakers believe that Sturridge could very well remain at Liverpool, with Betway making him 4/6 to stay at Anfield but should he leave then Leicester are favourites to land him at 7/4.
