Roy Hodgson is Delia Smith’s first choice to take charge at Norwich City, our Football Insider Graeme Bailey has learned.
Lincoln City’s highly-rated boss Danny Cowley, Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill and Ex-Newcastle manager Alan Pardew are also understood to have be discussed within the corridors of power at Carrow Road.
Norwich parted company with Alex Neil on Friday as their hopes of making the play-offs have floundered as they are nine points adrift of Sheffield Wednesday in sixth place.
Our football Insider Graeme Bailey understands that Hodgson has talked with Norwich owner Smith in the past week – as the two are personal friends.
“Delia Smith knows Roy Hodgson, I have been told he is her first choice to replace Alex Neil – who she was loathed to axe, but she had little choice given their season,” said Bailey.
“The job is Hodgson’s for the taking, but Norwich do have other options with the Cowley brothers, Michael O’Neill and Alan Pardew all in the mix.”
