Premier League clubs are already queuing up for Wolves starlet Ruben Neves, but he is in no hurry to depart Molineux.
Neves arrived from Porto last summer in a deal organised that was overseen by Jorge Mendes, the super agent who looks after him.
The 21-year-old midfielder was widely considered the best player in the Championship last season, and he has already begun his Premier League career in good form.
Manchester City, who have been trying to sign a new midfielder since January – having missed out on both Fred and Jorginho, are understood to be keen on the Portuguese, but they are not alone.
Rivals, I understand rivals Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea are all monitoring his situation.
But I am also told that Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are also looking closely at Neves.
Bookmakers are taking City’s interest seriously and they rate him Pep Guardiola’s men at just 2/1 to land Neves next.
“Ruben Neves has made an impressive start to his Premier League campaign at Wolves and punters feel he is sure to catch the eyes of Manchester City who are the favourites to sign the Portuguese midfielder next ahead of their rivals Manchester United,” said Coral’s John Hill.
