Bayern Munich’s chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says he would put money on them keeping hold of star striker Robert Lewandowski.
The 29-year-old Polish star has been strongly linked with a move away from Bayern this summer, and he has hired super agent Pini Zahavi.
Lewandowski has insisted that nothing should be read into Zahavi being taken on, which led to strong links with English clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea, who would be interested.
Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of Lewandowski, but he is contracted to Bayern until 2021, and they remain insistent that he is staying put.
Bayern’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “I would gladly accept a bet that Robert will play at Bayern Munich next season, 100 per cent.”
Bookmakers are currently siding with Bayern, making him 4/6 to remain at the Allianz Arena – which is 60% implied probability.
Of the interested sides, Real Madrid are firm favourites to land him – should he leave, priced at just 2/1..
