Liverpool have suffered a huge blow after confirming that Sadio Mane will be sidelined for up to six weeks with injury.
The inspirational Senegal star suffered a hamstring injury whilst on international duty and upon returning to England, he has been ruled out for up to six weeks and he may now not play until December.
It is a huge blow for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who has seen Mane play just five Premier League games after he was banned for three games for a red-card against Man City.
Now Klopp is faced with being without Mane for possibly seven games, which could have a huge impact on their chances of a top-four finish.
The first game Mane will miss is the huge clash with bitter rivals Manchester United this weekend.
As a result of Mane’s injury – Bookmakers have reacted by lengthening Liverpool’s odds for the title and a top-four finish.
BetVictor now make them 40/1 for the title and are 11/8 for a top-four finish, and we spoke to their Head of antepost Football, Michael Triffitt.
“Losing Sadio Mane for six weeks will be a blow and the Reds have eased to 40/1 from 33/1 for the title ahead of their huge clash with Manchester United at Anfield this weekend,” Triffitt told TheGamblinngTimes.com.
“Pool certainly missed the Senegalese international when he was away on African Nations duty last season and although the squad has a good depth this term he will once again be sorely missed. Pool are 11/8 from 5/4 to secure a top four finish and 8/15 from 4/7 to miss out.”
