Salah backed for big season after landing new deal

Mo Salah has penned a new long-term deal with Liverpool, and he is already being tipped for another big season.

The Egyptian arrived from Roma last summer, but he propelled himself to world stature with 44 goals in his debut season – earning the Premier League Golden Boot in the process.

Salah helped Liverpool to the Champions League final, and he has been linked big money moves but he has wasted little time in committing his future to Anfield.

“I think this news can be seen for what it is; rewarding a person who performed and contributed greatly for the team and the club last season,” said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

“It demonstrates two things very clearly also – his belief in Liverpool and our belief in him.”

Bookmakers are already backed Salah to hit the goalscoring trail yet again, and he is 25/1 with bet365 to score more than 35 Premier League goals.

bet365’s Steve Freeth said: “Salah has already topped some illustrious names in the Premier League record books and he’s 25/1 to beat Cole and Shearer’s 42-game tally of 34 next season.”
