Sanchez seals FA Cup final spot for Gunners

An extra-time goal from Alexis Sanchez gave Arsenal a 2-1 win over Manchester City and sent them into the FA Cup final.

The Gunners booked their third FA Cup final in four seasons, where they will face Chelsea in a repeat of the 2002 showpiece.

After a goalless first-half the game erupted into life when just after hour a brilliant finish from City’s Sergio Aguero.

Arsenal managed to level ten-minutes later when Nacho Monreal claimed his first goal of the season with a brilliant finish from an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain cross.

With the game in added time, the winner came from Chilean ace Sanchez as he reacted quickest following a Danny Welbeck effort to convert.

Arsenal will face Chelsea in the final at Wembley on May 27th and are rated outsiders at 11/8. Chelsea are odds on at 4/7.

Aoife Heffron, spokeswoman for BoyleSports commented: “Arsenal have been given a much needed boost and revival of belief thanks to their impressive 2-1 win over Man City in extra time. The Gunners have shortened in from 9/2 to 11/8, but will it be enough to see them past Chelsea?”

“Chelsea have shortened drastically for the FA Cup having been priced at 12/5 before their 4-2 win over Tottenham. They then shortened to 4/5 quickly after the result and have been cut further to 4/7 as they prepare to take on Arsenal in the final.”
